The birth of MCEgroup

Posted by Gary Fohl on May 3, 2024 4:48:26 PM

The beginnings of MCEgroup
MCEgroup started as an idea. It was founded by a group of passionate individuals who had a vision to create something extraordinary. They started with limited resources but had a strong determination to succeed. Through hard work and perseverance, the individual companies slowly began to establish themselves in the industry.

Masibanda Construction Engineering
With a wealth of experience spanning over three decades in various roles and locations within the Structural Steel Industry, Gary Fohl laid the foundation of Masibanda on a bedrock of unparalleled expertise. From honing his skills in drafting shop details during his university days to collaborating with a top-notch software firm, contributing to the establishment of IFC standards, and delving into the cutting-edge realm of point clouds, his journey of understanding culminated in the inception of the company.

Masibanda began as a small two-person venture and rapidly expanded to a team of six, prior to the recent addition of two new locations and the establishment of MCEgroup. With a family background and extensive experience in Africa and mining operations, it was a natural decision to leverage the rich engineering education and expertise found in Zimbabwe, where one of our new offices is located. The addition of our third office in Manilla introduced expertise in Timber structures, complementing our 35-year history in Steel, and marking our presence across three continents covering a virtual 24-hour workday. We're also in talks considering a few locations in the US so stay tuned.

With a diverse team boasting a wealth of experience and expertise in various aspects of the structural industry, MCEgroup is uniquely positioned to provide unparalleled client-focused engineering services. From innovative solutions to tailored designs, our team is equipped to meet all the needs of our clients, no matter how complex or specific they may be. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for pushing boundaries, there is truly no better team to trust with your structural engineering projects.

disrupdev
To meet the growing demands for cost efficiency and streamlined schedules, disrupdev emerged as a solution through the realm of application development. Embarking on his coding journey in 2006, Steven Nicholas delved into Tekla's API using C# coding, unveiling a world of possibilities. From crafting small tools to enhance practitioners' speed and precision to envisioning intricate automation projects for complex workflows, his innovative spirit led to the creation of a groundbreaking "configurator" for a pedestrian bridge application, giving rise to disrupdev's inception.

The synergy between Masibanda's engineering prowess and disrupdev's innovative spirit sparked a dynamic partnership. Following the success of the Bridge "Configurator," the collaboration flourished with the development of a roof purlin application and a conveyor deck application. These combined efforts seamlessly paved the path for the eventual fusion of Masibanda and disrupdev into a unified entity, solidifying their shared vision for groundbreaking solutions.

SimbaTek.
Recognizing the occasional need for assistance, the birth of SimbaTek was sparked by Johanne's vision for a more personalized client approach. While Masibanda excelled in understanding and meeting client needs remotely, there are moments when additional manpower becomes essential. Thus, Mr. Rehgeis focused on enhancing human resources and logistics within Masibanda, skillfully incorporating Point Cloud acquisition and manipulation. His goal is to provide clients with the precise engineering expertise they require, exactly when and where it is needed.

Future outlook for MCEgroup
Looking ahead, the future of MCEgroup appears promising. The company is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging trends and leverage its strong foundation to drive further growth.

MCEgroup aims to expand its global footprint by entering new markets and strengthening its presence in existing ones. The company will continue to invest in research and development to stay at the forefront of industry advancements and deliver innovative solutions to its clients.

With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, continuous innovation, and strategic expansion, MCEgroup is poised for a bright future filled with new opportunities and achievements.
